For awhile now I've wanted to make a list of what I consider to be the Top 10 Prepper Sites, not everyone will probably agree with this list and that's OK. The sites I've listed below are ones that I have found useful in the past when in need of information related to prepping, some helped me out when I was first learning about prepping, others I feel like have great information that just needs to be recognized. Now, go check them out! They're all great! When you're reading this article keep in mind that the list is in no particular order other than alphabetical.

Backdoor Survival

Backdoor Survival

Backdoor Survival promotes preparedness as a lifestyle. It is written in a friendly, no-nonsense manner and takes advantage of Gaye Levy's hands-on, nuts-and-bolts knowledge and common sense perspective for dealing with life and the stumbling blocks we face in this crazy, mixed-up world . The articles are non-intimidating and easy to understand.

The site speaks to the need to prepare without fear and without being overwhelmed by the daunting nature of storing food, water and gear. At the same time, there are plenty of articles for learning life-skills such as fire-making, cooking from scratch, and making and using your own soaps, salves, and natural remedies. Think of Backdoor Survival as a kinder, gentler, prepping and survival blog.

Petite Prepper

Here's a short description of the site from the Petite Prepper herself. A quirky little website dedicated to all manner of subjects related to both short-term and long-term survival and self-sufficiency. Why? Because there's a whole lot more to survival than just killing has more to do with having the right mindset. What is that? It is having the desire to obtain new skills, it is owning the drive to press forward, and it is having the willingness to learn from your own (and others') mistakes. Feel free to stop by to learn from a few of my own.

Plan and Prepared

Plan and Prepared

Find yourself wondering what Plan and Prepared is all about here is a short excerpt from his About Page. A former outdoor survival instructor, I currently work as a police officer in a suburb of Oklahoma City.I found myself beginning to prep just a few years ago. I fought the term “Prepper” for a long time, as I believed the media had given it a negative connotation. Instead, I was “being prepared for unforeseen events”. But let’s be honest, I was merely arguing semantics. I’m still not crazy about the term. But it is what it is. Although I started just a few years ago, I have a long history of being outdoors and developing survival skills. It started in my teens, as I was a Boy Scout. I loved it, and made the rank of Eagle Scout at age 16.

So what is Survivalist Prepper all about? Here is a short part from their About Page. We write articles a couple of times a week ranging from food storage to primitive skills. Lisa and I decided on the name Survivalist Prepper because Lisa is more of the prepper and I am more of the survivalist or outdoor type. Lisa is a registered nurse, a mother of 5 and focuses on first aid, planning, food storage, gardening, canning and anything that has to do with protecting the family from events that might change our lives. While I also write about prepping topics such as finances and mental preparedness, I also have a passion for the outdoors and know how important it might become to learn some of these survivalist skills.

The Prepper Journal

The Prepper Journal

If want to know what The Prepper Journal is here's a short section from the About Page. The Prepper Journal is a daily survival blog devoted to a wide variety of preparedness, survival, self-reliance and personal defense topics for readers who want to protect themselves and their family from seen and unseen disasters in our future. I started the Prepper Journal back in January of 2013, with the goal of helping people become more prepared for life’s curve-balls. It is my belief that anyone can take steps to be more prepared for natural or man-made disasters regardless of your age or physical ability. With that in mind, I want to do anything I can to motivate people , share lessons I learned and continue to learn along the way, provide a platform for others to speak out about preparedness topics and to share their own personal experiences.
